Quality Engineer
M Force Partners is seeking a Quality Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organization in Tanner, AL. This Quality Engineer will lead quality assurance initiatives by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems that ensure products meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality objectives.
The ideal Quality Engineer has experience supporting manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement, leading corrective actions, and maintaining ISO-compliant quality management systems. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Operations to improve product quality, reduce defects, and support new product launches.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement quality control processes and quality assurance programs in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams
- Create quality plans, inspection plans, and statistically valid sampling methods to evaluate products throughout the manufacturing process
- Coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI), First Article Testing (FAT), PPAP submissions, and new product launches
- Develop inspection methods, testing procedures, and quality documentation based on customer and engineering requirements
- Interpret customer Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements and applicable industry standards
- Conduct internal and external quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and company procedures
- Investigate nonconforming materials and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
- Issue and monitor corrective actions with internal departments and external suppliers
- Develop quality training materials and provide training on quality systems and inspection procedures
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, work instructions, ISO standards, military specifications, and customer requirements
- Verify calibration of inspection and measurement equipment in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate quality documentation and engineering records
- Support additional quality and engineering projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Systems, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with inspection methods, quality control techniques, and quality documentation
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
- Experience with PPAP, First Article Inspection (FAI), and First Article Testing (FAT)
- Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Knowledge of military specifications and defense manufacturing requirements
- Experience supporting manufacturing quality audits and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work onsite in Westminster, MD
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor
- Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to support manufacturing operations and production teams as needed
