We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet established drawings, specifications, quality procedures, and customer requirements. This position performs visual and dimensional inspections, documents results, identifies nonconforming products, and works closely with production to resolve quality concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect incoming materials to verify specifications through visual inspection and dimensional measurement.
- Accept or reject materials according to quality procedures, work instructions, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspections and communicate necessary adjustments to production supervisors and employees.
- Perform final inspections to confirm completed products meet all applicable requirements.
- Issue Certificates of Conformance and return unacceptable products for rework.
- Verify that reworked products meet the required specifications.
- Complete inspection reports, logs, rework summaries, and waste documentation.
- Enter inspection results and other quality information into the quality database.
- Identify, issue, review, and validate product nonconformances.
- Assist with reviewing and validating corrective action plans.
- Perform First Article Inspections and complete the required documentation.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, standards, quality procedures, and work instructions.
- Recommend improvements to receiving, assembly, production, and shipping processes.
- Provide technical support and respond promptly to identified quality issues.
- Train and mentor employees on maintaining quality throughout the production process.
- Support the inspection and maintenance oversight of production equipment.
- Maintain tracking records for calibrated tools, approved vendors, and other quality-related information.
- Assist with internal and external Quality Management System audits.
- Maintain effective communication between the Quality and Production departments.
- Travel as needed and perform other assigned responsibilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience working within a documented Quality Management System.
- At least two years of production inspection experience or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience performing dimensional inspections with standard precision measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of visual inspection methods and basic shop math.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
- Experience inspecting electro-optical assemblies.
- Experience handling or inspecting ESD-sensitive components.
