Retail Associate/ Customer Service

- Keep bakery department stocked and appealing to meet customer demand.
- Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about products.
- Help resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
- Takes customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant attitude.
- Determine customer preferences in size, flavor, appearance.
- Set up special-order tables during peak hours and shopping days.
- Set bakery cases and build displays as needed; may be required to write on cakes.
- Ensure merchandise is fresh, saleable, properly priced, with correct signage.
- Handle spoiled/damaged or near-expiration product per company procedures.
- Remove non-saleable product to maintain quality.
- Assist with production of breads, pastries, and other baked goods to sell.
- Adhere to production logs and approved recipes.
- Responsible for general sanitation; follow cleaning schedules and guidelines.
- Dispose of trash properly and maintain cleanliness of equipment and counters.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, storing deliveries with a power jack or hand jack (training provided).
- Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if trained.
- Assist in minimizing shrink and controlling damages; report shortages or overages to manager.
- Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and supervisors.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Utilize company-provided PPE (cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, company-sponsored footwear, etc.).
- May assist in other departments.
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or GED.
- No prior experience required.
