Bakery Sales Associate

Location:

• Keep bakery department stocked and appealing to meet customer demand.
• Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about products.
• Help resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person with a pleasant attitude.
• Determine customer preferences in size, flavor, appearance.
• Set up special-order tables during peak hours and shopping days.
• Set bakery cases and build displays as needed; may be required to write on cakes.
• Ensure merchandise is fresh, saleable, properly priced, with correct signage.
• Handle spoiled/damaged or near-expiration product per company procedures.
• Remove non-saleable product to maintain quality.
• Assist with production of breads, pastries, and other baked goods to sell.
• Adhere to production logs and approved recipes.
• Responsible for general sanitation; follow cleaning schedules and guidelines.
• Dispose of trash properly and maintain cleanliness of equipment and counters.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, storing deliveries with a power jack or hand jack (training provided).
• Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if trained.
• Assist in minimizing shrink and controlling damages; report shortages or overages to manager.
• Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and supervisors.
• Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize company-provided PPE (cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, company-sponsored footwear, etc.).
• May assist in other departments.

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
