Pay starts at $25.25/hr, potentially up to $42.95/hr based on market, education, experience, and certifications. About Small FormatsSmall‑format stores offer a consistent guest experience with stocked and accurately priced merchandise. The Small Format Team Leader ensures excellence on the sales floor, in backroom operations, and in guest service.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver the Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience and ensure all team members are trained to maintain guest experience commitments.
- Observe, coach, and hold team members accountable while recognizing high‑quality guest moments.
- Review guest, financial, and team metrics to identify improvement opportunities, take corrective action, and align the team on desired behaviors.
- Plan daily/weekly workload for the department, including merchandising, pricing, and promotions to meet sales goals.
- Model and coach a service culture, ensuring product availability, accurate pricing, and proper signage.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and execute product arrangement, pricing, and promotional signing for assigned departments.
- Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic, coordinating with weekly and monthly priorities.
- Lead pick, pack and ship fulfillment work when applicable.
- Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest‑centric team.
- Participate in onboarding, learning, and coaching to close skill gaps.
- Promote inclusivity, ethical conduct, safety, and security through modeling, training, and enforcement.
- Assume Leadership on Duty (LOD) responsibilities and store‑level emergency and compliance duties.
- Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pickup, and Drive‑Up while ensuring legal compliance.
- Perform any other duties required by business needs.
- Enjoy interacting and helping others.
- Thrives in a fast‑moving, physically demanding environment with teamwork and flexibility.
- Open to variable scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
- Experience leading and holding others accountable.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and remain focused in a fast‑paced environment.
- Use of wireless devices, handheld scanners, and other technology as directed.
- Proper lifting capabilities (up to 15 lbs regularly and up to 44 lbs occasionally).
- Ability to climb ladders, work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
- Reliable, punctual attendance and flexibility with schedule.
- Access all areas of the building to resolve guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations correctly.
- Maintain a mobile stance throughout the shift.
