Assistant Store Manager

Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations with a customer-first focus, assisting with supervision, merchandise management, and financial tasks. They help maintain a clean, organized environment and ensure excellent customer service by greeting customers, operating cash registers, and assisting with store opening and closing.

• Supervise staff scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, rotating, and display according to planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, control damages, markdowns, and handle paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, and deposit procedures.
• Assist in store management in the absence of the Store Manager.

• Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret safety and operational documents and perform mathematical calculations.
• Experience with cash register functions, cash handling, and store security policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent; retail experience and supervisory skills preferred.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Handling merchandise and equipment, occasional climbing, and exposure to outside weather.
• Fast-paced setting with moderate noise; occasional use of personal transportation for banking and store visits.
