- Current students enrolled in an accredited high school, college, or graduate institution.
- Recent graduates who earned a degree within the last 2 years (6 years for veterans).
- Perform a variety of tasks in support of projects assigned to higher‑level analysts.
- Conduct special research tasks that enhance knowledge of work processes and techniques and apply fundamentals of associated disciplines.
- Identify data sources and perform data acquisition and reduction.
- Develop reports summarizing accomplishments and results of assignments, presenting findings within own organization.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to remain current in the field and apply to work assignments.
- Plan own work procedures to support projects assigned to higher‑grade operations research analysts.
- Perform general operations research assignments consisting of interrelated tasks or problems screened by a higher‑grade analyst.
- Assist higher‑grade analysts in finding solutions to problems requiring a variety of data sources and disciplines.
- Develop written summaries and reports for higher‑level analysts, contractors, and/or customers.
- Stay abreast of emerging techniques and professional developments to remain current in the field and apply to work assignments.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject‑matter courses requiring substantial competence in college‑level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
