Duties The primary purpose of this position is:
To protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to command mission interests, national defense or national security and serve as a security specialist, providing limited information, personnel, and industrial program support for the installation. DUTY #1:
Monitors the overall security administration program for the organization. Provides guidance and assistance to supervisors and managers in the areas of physical, information, personnel and limited industrial security. DUTY #2:
Implements policies and procedures covering the safeguarding of classified information. DUTY #3:
Participates in Unit Security Managers meetings. Serves as unit security manager. DUTY #4:
Serves as Agency's equipment and supply officer. Maintains equipment accountability for the Agency. Exercises a thorough knowledge of the Agency's operation. DUTY #5:
Implements unit security education and motivation programs. Advises managers of security training requirements, changes in security procedures, publication of security directives, and enhancements designed to increase security awareness. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
* Employee must maintain current certifications
* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507.
* Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or ...., * ...initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information,personnel, and physical security programs for the organization; appluying knoweldge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations, collecting and analyzing information, etc.,
and skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications,variations in building construction characteristics, access and entry restrictions, equipment availability, and otherissues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues, OR
EDUCATION:
master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE:
