Position: Supervisory Security Guard with Security Clearance
Location: Redstone Arsenal

Duties
* Develop training plans based on approved training courses and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure proper accountability of all sensitive items, weapons and equipment.
* Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
* Serve as a Shift Supervisor who exercises direct supervision of the activities of a guard force shift consisting of subordinate Security Guards. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* The incumbent must be assigned for mandatory drug testing and must agree to submit to a urinalysis on a recurring basis in accordance with Army Regulation 600-85.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. Incumbent must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle.
* Position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban (the Lautenberg Amendment). This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
* Due to the nature of this position, incumbent is required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime, and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
* The incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminals.
* The incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT).
* The incumbent must meet the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 190-56.
* The incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
* The incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
* The incumbent must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
* The incumbent must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability requiring the incumbent to carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield, and employ non-lethal ammunitions if necessary.
* The incumbent must undergo and pass pre-employment and annual medical exams of physical, emotional, and mental stability. With potential lifting up to 50lbs.
* The incumbent must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56, maintaining a high state of appearance and hygiene.
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
* Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
* This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Leading personnel who perform security procedures with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization;
2) Making work assignments to ensure that guard coverage is provided to patrol areas; and
