Position: Maintenance Supervisor I, II, III, IV - Region I Maintenance - No Experience Required
Location: Texas

Maintenance Supervisor Positions

The Maintenance Department maintains all TDCJ owned and operated facilities. A unit maintenance office is located on each correctional facility. Each office has a technical staff, which varies according to the mission and facility offender population. There are six (6) region maintenance offices supporting the unit maintenance offices. These regional offices have specialty crews performing construction projects, repairs and renovations. The asbestos team provides asbestos abatement services to the TDCJ.

The headquarters staff is responsible for overseeing the entire facility maintenance and repair process for TDCJ.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Positions available for Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Technicians, Lock

Technicians, Carpenters, Boiler Operators, Water, Wastewater, Laundry

and Food Service Technicians, General Maintenance and Construction

on all TDCJ units and facilities.

This is a Career Ladder position. When filling the available positions,

Maintenance Supervisor I

No Experience Required

Maintenance Supervisor II

One year full-time, wage-earning applicable experience. Technical or

trade school courses in an applicable field may be substituted for experience.

Maintenance Supervisor III

Two years full-time, wage-earning applicable experience. Technical or trade

school courses in an applicable field may be substituted for experience.

Maintenance Supervisor IV

1. Four year full-time, wage-earning experience in the operation, maintenance,

or repair of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and

refrigeration systems and equipment

or

an associate degree in HVAC or Refrigeration from a college or university

accredited by CHEA or USDE and two years full-time, wage-earning experience

in the operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems and

equipment

or

completion of a program in HVAC or Refrigeration from a trade or technical

school accredited by the CHEA or the USDE and three years full-time,

wage-earning experience in the operation and maintenance of HVAC

and refrigeration systems and equipment, or by the National Center for

Construction Education and Research (NCCER)

or

completion of a program in HVAC or Refrigeration from a U.S Military

Technical training school and three years full-time, wage-earning experience

in the operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems and

equipment.

2. Current Environmental Protection Agency approved Universal Refrigerant

Containment Certification.

Must maintain valid license(s) for continued employment in position.
