Job Title: Ironworker Helper

Location: Calvert, Alabama area

Employment Type: Independent Contractor

Pay: $28/hour (DOE)

Per Diem: $70/day

Schedule: 40–60 hours per week, including occasional Saturdays and Sundays

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Ironworker Helper to assist Journeyman Ironworkers on active job sites in the Calvert, Alabama area. This role is ideal for individuals with some construction experience who are looking to grow their skills in structural steel and ironwork. The helper will support daily operations, maintain safety standards, and contribute to efficient project completion.

• Assist ironworkers with the erection and installation of structural steel components
• Help with loading, unloading, and organizing materials and tools
• Perform basic rigging and signaling under supervision
• Assist with bolting, connecting, and securing steel framework
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all OSHA and site‑specific safety regulations
• Support general labor tasks as directed by supervisors

• Previous construction or industrial experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Willingness to learn iron working skills and techniques
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
• Valid OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid Driver's License

• Outdoor construction setting with exposure to varying weather conditions
• Physically demanding work involving lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing
