Austin Industrial provides maintenance, construction and soft craft services to leading industrial companies across the U.S., including the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing industries.

This is a full-time maintenance job, 40 hours per week (4/10 schedule). No per diem and no relocation funding.

• Construct, assemble, maintain and dismantle tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures.
• Determine the type of scaffold needed.
• Inspect job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards and mitigate avoidable hazards prior to construction.
• Transport tubular scaffold or other structural material and erect the scaffold to required dimensions.
• Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect the temporary structure.
• Properly secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secure scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adhere to all OSHA, site‑specific and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating the scaffolding.
• Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantle scaffolding when properly communicated to do so.
• Inspect and properly stow scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Perform work wearing personnel protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform duties involving full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including reaching overhead, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, using hands to handle and feel objects, tools or controls, climbing stairs, working at heights, and balancing for extended periods.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Journeyman Scaffold Builder with minimum 3 years of experience.
• 3‑5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Pass a drug screen and background check, as a condition of employment.
• Ability to perform work wearing PPE: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air‑purifying respirators, safety harness, sand‑blast hoods, fire‑resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
• Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; able to reach overhead, work in various positions (stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting), use hands to handle and feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, work at heights, and balance for extended periods of time.
