Maintenance Mechanic – Rotating Shift (D)

Pay up to $38.55 per hour with shift differential.

As a Maintenance Mechanic at our Dayton, Ohio plant, you will ensure safe operation, mechanical maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment that produces high‑quality ingredients for the food, beverage, and other industries.

Skill‑Block pay‑for‑knowledge system: $35.09 per hour to start, rising to $37.70 after a skills evaluation. Shift differential $0.85 per hour. From August 1 the wage increases to $36.21, rising to $38.91 after evaluation. Health insurance and a 401(k) savings plan are included.

• Perform all duties following Primient’s safety procedures.
• Install machinery and equipment using hoists, lifting equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Conduct precise alignment of machines and equipment with hoists, jacks, hand tools, scales, rules, micrometers, precision levels, plumb bobs, dial indicators, and laser alignment tools.
• Repair, perform preventive maintenance, and inspection on industrial equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, fans, conveyors, and packaging equipment.
• Perform building and grounds maintenance.
• Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair utility, process, and sanitary piping and plumbing systems; cut, solder, braze, weld, bend, and thread materials.
• Perform lubrication activities on industrial equipment such as oil and filter changes, and oil sampling.
• Work with materials to fabricate, install, erect, and repair metal parts and equipment.
• Use electric and gas welding equipment to weld, braze, heat, form, cut, and fuse items.
• Operate forklift, boom lift, and other industrial moving equipment.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work area clean and orderly.
• This is a 365/24/7 operating plant – requiring weekends and holidays.

Rotating schedule: 2 days 6 am–2 pm, 1 day 2 pm–10 pm, 4 days 10 pm–6 am, 2 days off, 1 day 6 am–2 pm, 4 days 2 pm–10 pm, 1 day 10 pm–6 am, 2 days off, 4 days 6 am–2 pm, 2 days 2 pm–10 pm, 4 days off (repeats every 28 days).

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in the chemical or industrial manufacturing industry.
• Experience installing and aligning pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
• Experience rebuilding industrial pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and centrifuges.
• Experience working on lubrication and filtration systems.
• Experience prefabbing threaded pipe and welded pipe.
