Job Description:
Transports, performs setup and operational support for industrial cleaning services. Trained to operate, maintain, and repair high‑pressure water blasting equipment and industrial vacuuming equipment necessary to perform the safe and proper removal, containment, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non‑hazardous materials within heavy industrial settings. Operators are also capable of performing the general labor activities associated with industrial cleaning.
- Assumes total responsibility for the safe operation of all required equipment.
- Responsible for pre‑post trip inspections.
- Performs wet and dry vacuum truck operation & functions.
- Performs hydroblasting services, including advanced lance/shotgun operation.
- Performs hydraulic pump operations.
- Performs jetter truck operations.
- Loads and unloads equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Performs manual tasks and assists co‑workers.
- Performs general maintenance tasks to keep machinery, equipment, and tools operable.
- Cleans vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
- Performs safety procedures, including lock‑out tag‑out, confined space entry, housekeeping, and company‑specific procedures.
- Reports potential issues or concerns to the Industrial Manager/Branch Manager.
- Ensures tasks are performed safely with the highest level of quality and integrity.
- Arrives at office or jobsite on time and ready to work.
- Adheres to company policies.
- Wears and properly uses personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection.
- Works when scheduled and complies with the company attendance policy.
- Attends all safety and health training as required.
- Travel is required, sometimes for long periods, to perform this work.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assists in other areas as needed, including shop, parts, inventory, and municipal.
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew and division personnel and negotiate with members of all backgrounds and personalities.
- Ability to physically control industrial hydro‑blasting and vacuum equipment.
- Ability to perform work conducted in and around confined spaces and at elevated heights.
- Ability to enter confined spaces such as crawl spaces, manholes, and other areas that may be claustrophobic.
- Demonstrates a safety‑first, positive attitude and works as part of a team.
- Uses applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
- Reads, writes, and communicates in English effectively.
- Works well under pressure.
- Demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adapts to change with short notice.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures while contributing to a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying 75–100 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, pushing/pulling, squatting, kneeling, and moving wrists, hands, and fingers; normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
- Must complete all pre‑ and post‑training, including safety, new hire, and regulatory training.
- Must complete required safety‑related training: TWIC, 10‑Hour OSHA, Confined Space, Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, Breathing Air Equipment Training and Fit Test, Aerial Lift Training, Lock Out Tag Out, Heat Stress, MSHA, Defensive Driving, Hazard Communications, and H2S.
- One year of technician experience is required.
- Must have reliable transportation and a means of communication.
- Must pass a drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check.
- Valid State‑issued Driver’s License and .
Industrial setting, outside environment, exposure to extreme temperatures and elements possible; noisy conditions; exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Physical ConditionsMust be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities. Ability to lift and carry 75‑100 pounds. Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, pushing/pulling, squatting/kneeling, and substantial movements of wrists, hands, and fingers. Must be able to see within normal range with or without corrective lenses.
