Trades ​/ Skilled Labor Operator, Field​/Service Technician

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Operate and maintain a landfill gas‑fuelled power plant consisting of multiple spark‑ignition reciprocating engines and associated auxiliary equipment.
• Comply with all workplace, federal, state, and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations.
• Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on:
  • Fixed plant equipment (e.g., engines, generators, pumps, chillers, valves).
  • Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS)
• Document and report equipment maintenance, operations, and conditions accurately.
• Conduct fault‑finding and necessary repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support on call schedule and respond to call outs in a reasonable timeframe.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties.
• Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations.
• Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.
• In addition to the duties set out above, the Operator may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company

• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Teamwork skills to cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers and contractors, including in high‑stress situations.
• Ability to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively to complete job duties.
• Visual acuity sufficient for job‑related responsibilities.
• Physical stamina to stand, sit, bend, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Willingness to travel by automobile and/or airline for extended periods, when needed.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Background in mechanical or electrical maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to collect and interpret data, and write clear, accurate reports and specifications.
• Experience with gas and/or diesel reciprocating engines
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical systems.
• Capability to work autonomously and self‑motivate in a multi‑skilled environment.
• Proficiency in using computers, instrumentation, metering, and/or monitoring equipment to measure, record, and adjust operating parameters.
