Electrical&Instrumentation Technician

Drax is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support safe, reliable operations at our renewable energy facility. You will install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems on biomass handling and power generation equipment. Responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and control loops; reading and updating electrical schematics; supporting shutdowns and projects; and responding to plant upsets.

You'll collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams to improve reliability while following strict safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
• Read, interpret, and update electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation.
• Support plant shutdowns, projects, and equipment upgrades to improve reliability.
• Respond to equipment failures and process upsets to restore safe, stable operations.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety standards.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to diagnose root causes and implement fixes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS and support continuous improvement initiatives.
