Powerline Crewleader

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct crew activities related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission facilities.
• Investigate job sites and pre-plan work activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Install and maintain primary and secondary power lines, cables, and conduit systems.
• Operate bucket trucks, line trucks, backhoes, and conductor/cable pulling and tensioning equipment.
• Perform and oversee emergency restoration and outage response activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate line personnel while promoting a strong safety culture.

• Complete work orders, timesheets, and other required documentation.

• Graduation froman accredited two (2) year community/technical college with a degree/certification in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years experience as an electric Powerline Technician first class, which includes lead worker responsibilities; OR
• Graduation fromhigh school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as defined in (A) above; OR

• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as defined(A) and (B) above.

• Strong knowledge of overhead and underground power line construction and maintenance practices.
• Experience working on energized high-voltage distribution systems.
• Ability to lead crews, delegate work, and coordinate field operations.
• Knowledge of utility safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to respond effectively during emergency outages and storm restoration efforts.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Functional Employment Test (FET) required.
• Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Ability to free climb utility poles.
