Major Gift Officer (MGO) is responsible for building relationships with existing donors who have the capacity and affinity to make a gift of $5,000 or greater to CAP.
Responsibilities- Manage a tiered portfolio of 125–150 donors and prospects from an assigned territory, emphasizing increasing giving value through relationship cultivation and stewardship.
- Develop and execute the fundamental skills of discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, moving donors forward in the relationship cycle.
- Responsible for all annual activity outcomes, basic CRM navigation, database upkeep, reporting and follow‑through of assigned tasks.
- Engage in professional development exercises such as seminars, in‑house trainings, educational program activities, human service opportunities, shadowing senior MGO’s, and cross‑departmental learning experiences.
- Participate in CAP activities and major donor events, fostering constructive collaboration within the CAP workspace and culture.
- Demonstrate an "All in" attitude and foster constructive collaboration within the CAP workplace.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required). Extensive related experience may substitute.
- 4 or more years of successful experience in a related field or combination of education and experience.
- Valid Kentucky Driver’s License and a safe driving record (required).
- CAP Driving Certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days (required).
- Must maintain a motor vehicle insurance policy with coverage of $50,000 bodily injury per person per accident, $100,000 bodily injury for all injuries per accident, and $50,000 property damage per accident for business use of a personal vehicle.
- CFRE or CFRM certification preferred.
- Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, and walk.
- Capacity to lift 45 lbs and lift/move items with unknown weight or awkward shapes with assistance.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Good visual acuity with corrective lenses.
- Good hearing capabilities.
