Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

The Software Engineer engages directly with IT leadership, development teams, technical delivery teams, enterprise architects, resource managers, operations support teams and vendors to ensure the successful design, development and delivery of technology-based solutions.

This individual will be a key asset in the software change and release management processes, assisting with the overall maturity of the software development lifecycle. This requires driving on-time, high quality software development deliverables to multiple environments including operations engagement and production release, while working with cross-functional teams. In addition, she/he will assist in the definition and maturation of processes to optimize efficiency and quality.

• Develops/designs integrated solutions to resolve highly complex technical issues
• Leverages existing, and recommends future, technologies to enhance systems and solutions
• Estimates effort for development deliverables
• Works closely with project managers and leadership teams to deliver expected outcomes
• Develops in support of project deliverables and schedules

• Programming
  
  Languages:
  
  Proficiency in C#, .Net Framework and .Net core. One or more primary languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/Type Script, are good to have.
• Data Structures & Algorithms:
  Mastery of arrays, linked lists, and maps to build optimized and efficient code.
• Version Control:
  Expert use of Git and platforms like Git Hub or Bitbucket to manage code changes, handle merge conflicts, and collaborate via pull requests.
• Testing & Debugging:
  Writing unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability. Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and debugging tools is standard.
• Database Management:
  
  Experience with SQL Server. Knowledge of other relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL (using SQL) and No
  
  SQL solutions like MongoDB or Redis is preferable.
• Cloud Platforms:
  Knowledge of cloud ecosystems like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for deploying and scaling applications.
• CI/CD Pipelines:
  Awareness of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows to automate software releases. Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• System Design:
  The ability to design scalable, maintainable architectures, often involving microservices or API-first (REST) approaches. Proficiency in designing and consuming APIs, including handling authentication, versioning, rate limiting, and error handling.
• Technical Writing:
  Creating clear reference documentation for users and internal teams.

• AI-Powered Workflows: AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Git Hub Copilot) into their daily coding to boost productivity.
• Security & Privacy:
  Understanding secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP standards), encryption (SSL/TLS), and identity access management.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Highly collaborative and excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability and use of judgement to define problems, collect data, establish fact and resolve problems. Ability to analyze, interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations to business practices.
