In this role, you will have direct responsibility for Transportation and Ground Operations;
Packaging/Shipping;
Fleet Management; and Fleet Maintenance.

Daily duties include the planning, scheduling, and routing of inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight. Assigns Lockheed Martin commercial vehicle drivers to support intra-campus and OTR distribution of tooling, equipment, and critical flight hardware, to include Haz Mat items. Works in close coordination with LM Space Programs, packaging engineers, commercial vendors, & civilian and military airports. Complies with all Federal, State, Local and Company regulations and policies.

Represents company with carriers to request quotes. Directs research on transportation methods, rates, and route; develops evaluation process to audit and monitor carrier performance.

Responsible for ensuring all drivers of CMVs at Courtland site location are properly licensed, qualified, and up to date on current Federal and State Motor Carrier Regulations. Oversee and comply with required regulatory registration documents for CMV. Work environment includes trucks, docks, roads, forklifts, maintenance areas, and year-round outdoor weather conditions. Team will routinely use safety mitigation tools e.g. PPE, FFMEA, FMCSR, risk huddles, and leader oversight to mitigate risk.

Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Provides direct supervision to employees and is actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems. Works on issues requiring the analysis of data and relevant factors in support of the Courtland Campus.

Desired Skills
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Proven ability to implement controls for shipping/distribution, implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with the management of semi-tractors, trailers, box trucks, forklifts, crane lifts.
  • Knowledge of DOT Driver Qualification File requirements for CDL drivers.
  • Certified 49 CFR Haz Mat
  • Commercial Carrier Truckload Coordination
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently within the team
  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Ability to occasionally travel to support mission, willingness to work occasional non-standard hours to meet critical mission timelines
