Position: SUPERVISORY HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR with Security Clearance

Duties The primary purpose of this position is to:
The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer, to supervise and manage the operations of a Formal Training Unit (FTU) Squadron. The organizational location of this position is: in a Formal Training Unit (FTU) Squadron in a Reserve Air Force Wing that has formal flying training oversight and execution of aircraft for which assigned training is designated.

RESPONSIBILITIES: DUTY 1:
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the FTU. Develops goals and objectives that integrate FTU and Operations Group objectives. DUTY 2:
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. DUTY 3:
Performs as a certified Instructor Pilot. Maintains proficiency in unit's mission. DUTY 4:
Training Management. Establishes and manages the FTU training program and student flowactivities. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Leave accrual may be authorized upon request Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Supplement to Qualification Standards for Air Reserve Technicians (ART), approved August 2017. SPECIAL

EXPERIENCE:

No specific length of experience required. The qualifications of Airplane/Helicopter Pilots or Airplane/Helicopter Flight Instructors in an Air Force active duty and Reserve force are directly related to the completion of prerequisite training and number of flying hours rather than years of experience. CERTIFICATION:
Must have a minimum of 1000 hours total military flight time in Mission Design Series (MDS), hold or qualify for a USAF pilot rating; hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order and have flown military aircraft within the past eight years.

You must submit an AFTAR 209 or any official flying hour report and any official document that shows date received aviation service aeronautical order. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENTS FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade level or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

(KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of and skill in the application of rated aviator expertise, as a pilot/navigator.
2. Knowledge of flying operations, command center communications, intelligence procedures,aeromedical evacuation, and current operations which includes worldwide deployment of aircraft, andthe relationships of the various Air Force Reserve entities, other MAJCOMs and Air Force in overallplanning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
3. Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, and techniques for employment of unit-assigned aircraft.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct flight operations functions; and mentor, motivate, and appraisea staff through subordinate supervisors.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments tomeet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
