Linde Inc. is seeking a Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) Specialist for locations in McIntosh, AL or Theodore, AL, United States. In this role, you will work collaboratively with site management and regional safety leadership to achieve zero-incident performance goals across distribution operations and site activities. You will provide direct support to the existing site Safety Specialist while taking ownership of distribution safety performance and training initiatives.

You will cultivate strong partnerships with drivers, employees, and contractors, fostering a proactive and deeply rooted safety culture across all distribution-related functions.

Key responsibilities include onboarding and training new drivers and employees, as well as delivering consistent, high-quality ongoing safety training to ensure sustained compliance and performance. You will identify opportunities to improve safety trends by analyzing performance data, driver behavior, and field observations. You will implement corrective and preventive actions with urgency, particularly in areas impacting transportation safety and operational risk.

In collaboration with line management, you will support the development and execution of safety plans for distribution activities and major maintenance events, ensuring safe, compliant, and controlled operations. Additionally, you will provide structured support for incident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), reporting, and corrective action follow-through to drive long-term improvement—especially in transportation and low-speed vehicle incidents.

You will regularly review and manage compliance systems to ensure all required safety, environmental, and transportation-related tasks are completed. This includes supporting distribution-focused training, driver observations, ride-alongs, performance evaluations, and site inspections. Lastly, you will monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). You will facilitate training programs, conduct safety meetings, deliver engaging presentations, and provide technical expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP), while maintaining a strong field presence and engaging directly with drivers and operations personnel to uphold risk mitigation and operational excellence.
