Part Time SHOP Mount Vernon, AL, US

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors and staying active? We’re looking for a Laborer to join our team in Mount Vernon, AL. This role supports the daily operations of our yard/facility and includes general labor, maintenance, and clean-up duties. This position will work closely with the Yard Superintendent to assist with day-to-day yard activities, material handling, inventory organization, general yard/lawn maintenance, and equipment support. A key part of this position will also be making local and out-of-town deliveries using company pickup trucks to support our dredges and field operations.

This role is important to keeping materials, parts, and supplies moving where they are needed so our crews can continue operating efficiently.

• Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE
• Perform general yard upkeep, ability to mow or weedeat
• Load/unload materials and assist with inventory organization
• Maintain tools, yard and equipment in clean, working condition
• Make deliveries of parts, tools, materials, and supplies to dredges, yards, vendors, and project locations.
• Perform both local and out-of-town deliveries as required.
• Operate company pickup trucks and small truck-bed loads safely and responsibly.
• Properly load, secure, and protect materials before transport.
• Support the team with various manual labor tasks as needed
• Follow all safety guidelines while working on-site

• Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
• High school diploma is an asset
• Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel for deliveries, including occasional longer-distance trips.
• Dependable daily transportation to and from Mount Vernon, AL.
• Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and handle small truck-bed deliveries.
• Ability to safely load, unload, lift, move, and secure materials.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in an industrial yard environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary.
• Strong attention to safety, organization, and equipment care.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist wherever needed.
• Previous experience in construction, marine, industrial, warehouse, delivery, or yard operations is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience, especially in particular industry, preferred
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description, ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment testing (observed drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing

Approx. 40 hours per week

Occasional weekend work may be required based on needs
