About the Role:
The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the supply chain process by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall efficiency of warehouse operations. The Receiving Clerk will collaborate with various departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure that all products meet quality standards before they are stored or distributed.
Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential, as this role directly impacts inventory management and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the Receiving Clerk contributes to the seamless flow of goods within the organization, supporting both operational success and service excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, ensuring that all items match the purchase orders.
- Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the appropriate departments.
- Maintain accurate records of received goods and update inventory management systems accordingly.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and organization of received items.
- Assist in conducting regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
The required skills for this position include attention to detail, which is vital for accurately inspecting and documenting incoming shipments. Organizational skills are essential for maintaining an orderly receiving area and ensuring that inventory records are up to date. Basic computer skills are utilized daily to enter data into inventory management systems and generate reports.
