Warehouse Manager – MWI Animal Health
Location: Pelham, AL (onsite)
Shift
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM (or complete shift). Flexibility may be required based on business needs, including working different hours or days.
Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000
Key Responsibilities- Manage Warehouse Supervisors and their teams.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of warehouse operations in an RF‑enabled or non‑RF‑enabled environment.
- Oversee warehouse personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the handling of controlled substances, pharmaceuticals, hazardous, and flammable materials.
- Track attendance, coach and lead associates for growth, monitor performance, and manage overtime and compensation changes.
- Direct warehouse activities to ensure efficient and economical utilization of storage and distribution facilities.
- Maintain process management, productivity measures, and quality controls.
- Review, track, and analyze critical success metrics and compare results with targets regularly.
- Develop and implement improvements to reduce order‑filling errors, late deliveries, and enhance overall service levels.
- Respond to production problems by implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable corporate, regulatory, and government policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Recommend and implement improvements to warehouse practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service, and lower costs.
- Assist in preparation of the department budget and manage the budget to meet financial goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience: 5+ years of directly related experience, including 2+ years at a supervisory level.
- Skills & Knowledge: Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships, foster teamwork, coach and develop employees, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong negotiating, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, systems, engineered standards, and regulatory compliance matters.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work extended hours, participate in weekend on‑call rotation as needed, and engage in scheduled physical inventory activities.
