Production Manager-Automotive Manufacturing

We are hiring a Production Manager for our client, a global automotive glass manufacturer, to assist the Plant Manager in planning, directing and coordinating production operations activities for their manufacturing facility in Alabaster, Alabama.

• Achieve and communicate Safety, Quality, Yield and Productivity performance goals through safety walks, open discussions and daily reviews of KPIs vs. performances.
• Determine and oversee Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Ensure accountability for production associates to meet objectives through production coordinators and production leads.
• Creating an environment of open communication, encourage production associates to engage in process improvement activities to further improve process performance.
• Assist Plant Manager in strategic planning and development of production associates.
• Support Kaizen Theme Activities (KTA’s) to help drive continuous improvement and enhance associate ownership/pride.
• Coordinate New Model build activity with Scheduler to ensure Special Order Requests (SORs) are completed on time.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or other related functions required.
• 6+ years management in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• Ability to inspire and motivate consistent performance level and pace, while following all SOP’s and company policies.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem solving tools.
• Quality systems (TS16949) and (VDA
  6.3) knowledge.
• Computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
