Position Summary
Heart South is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Care to provide high‑quality patient care in an outpatient setting where patients typically receive treatment and return home the same day. This role supports patients across the care continuum, focusing on wellness, treatment, education, and coordination of care in a fast‑paced ambulatory environment.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence‑based nursing care in an ambulatory or outpatient care setting
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care
- Administer medications and treatments, perform patient assessments, and ensure patient safety
- Deliver age‑appropriate, patient‑centered care across the lifespan
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans, treatments, and follow‑up instructions
- Coordinate and document patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Delegate tasks appropriately to healthcare team members based on patient needs and staff competencies
- Communicate changes in patient condition or unit concerns to the care team
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized care environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional practice activities
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and organizational standards
Education & Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Demonstrated competency in ambulatory nursing skills and patient care equipment
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the appropriate state or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC may be required based on assigned area
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
