AGC | Quality Inspector/Quality Auditor, Alabaster, AL

Location of Position: Alabaster, AL (on-site)

Summary of Position:

Performs quality assurance testing and analysis of: raw materials, materials in process, and finished products while working with plant operations and support staff to meet plant and customer quality metrics and targets. This role is first shift (7am – 3pm). Hourly rate $ per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in a safe and ethical manner.
  • Perform Product, Process and NCR Audits using AGC and customer standards.
  • Perform gauging and testing activities and document the results.
  • Perform and coordinate sort activities.
  • Assist with 5S activities in areas assigned to the quality assurance department.
  • Help chair 5

    Why or 5P activities in plant.
  • Verify the conformity and completion of startup documentation.
  • Identify non-conformance in product or processes and issue SCW to control non-conformity and contain nonconforming
    product.
  • Communicate to staff during the audit/review with the outlook of ensuring compliance to guidelines and measures
    in all stages of the audit progression.
  • Ensure that the audit schedule is followed.
  • Pull production samples and inspect to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in driving Continuous Improvement activities.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Minimal of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical Certificate is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, energetic with the ability to think outside the norm.
  • Must have a technical understanding of manufacturing process(es) to be audited and be able to read/ understand process risk analysis documentation (such as PFMEA) and control plan(s)
  • Must be competent in understanding product requirements as described in Customer Specification sheets (SIS)
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Must be able to use gauges such as micrometers, check fixtures, mill sticks etc.
  • Must have Microsoft Systems Knowledge.
  • The ability to involve yourself in several projects and tasks, with regularly varying priorities and developing concerns.
  • The skill to communicate efficiently, orally, through emails and in writing.
  • Proper discipline and knowledge to address quality issues, while maintaining a professional and positive relationship with peers and supervisors.
  • Effect sound and impartial ruling to ensure observance of audit guidelines and proactively control non-conformance in products or processes.
  • Must be willing or flexible enough to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime with short notice.
