Now hiring for a Maintenance Technician Helper in Alabaster, AL. Pay rate is $23.00 – $25.00 per hour for the 1st shift. This opportunity allows you to troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, and help maintain the systems that keep production moving safely and efficiently.

Job duties include assisting Maintenance Technicians with routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, helping troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility-related issues, assisting with preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, conveyors, and other production systems, using basic hand and power tools safely and properly, helping inspect equipment and report maintenance issues or potential problems, assisting with replacing belts, bearings, hoses, filters, and other components as directed, keeping maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized, following all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA guidelines, assisting with emergency repairs and responding to equipment issues as needed, and performing general facility maintenance and other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED. Technical school, vocational training, or industrial maintenance certification is preferred. Experience requirements include experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment, ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, or equipment documentation, strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and preventative maintenance practices, and previous maintenance, mechanical, construction, or industrial experience preferred.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment, experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns, knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication, strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Physical capabilities include the ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift, ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds, ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures, manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment, and basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
