Sandvik has an opportunity for a Production Manager in its Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, Florida USA (greater Gainesville, FL area).

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee and coordinate all production activities, from sub-assembly through final touch-up and painting. Assign tasks, coach team members, and monitor performance to achieve production targets.
  • Team Engagement: Proactively build and nurture engagement within the production team, creating an environment where employees feel valued, involved, and motivated to contribute their best. Regularly measure and act on engagement levels, making this a central KPI for your performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain partners and cross-functional departments to maintain seamless operations and resolve production issues.
  • Resource Management: Manage shift schedules, resource planning, and overtime to meet operational demands.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with SOPs, schedules, job safety analyses, and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold quality standards through inspections, minimize defects, and ensure product consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and improve production processes to boost productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
  • Team Development: Develop and manage staff, foster a skilled and motivated workforce, and coordinate training programs.
  • Reporting: Track and report on production status, performance, and key metrics to management.
  • EHS Commitment: Foster a safe workplace, implement safety procedures, and ensure compliance with IMS standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018).
  • Financial Stewardship: Monitor KPIs, manage labor allocations, control rework hours, and ensure departmental expenses are within budget.
Your Success Factors
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and high-level organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in managing personnel and production processes.
  • Agility in adapting to dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong customer service orientation and strategic thinking.
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Experience in managing shift operations.
Your Experience & Education
  • 10 years with Sandvik in Production support roles, and a bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years in Production Management/Support roles (preferably heavy equipment) and a bachelor’s in engineering.
  • 15 years in Production Management/Support roles (preferably heavy equipment) and a bachelor’s plus lean certification.
  • 5 years in Supervisory or Managerial role (Required).
  • Lean Manufacturing certification (Preferred).

  • Work Environment: This role operates in a manufacturing production environment and may require work outdoors in all weather conditions.
