Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant prepares financial reports, maintains accounting records, and ensures accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to independently manage complex accounting functions while supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes in a fast‑paced startup manufacturing environment.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses

• Prepare journal entries
• Manage and review general ledger entries and account reconciliations
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Maintain chart of accounts and ensure proper account coding

• Oversee AP/AR processes and resolve complex issues
• Review vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment processing
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding items

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain documentation for financial transactions
• Implement and monitor internal controls

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA preferred or actively pursuing

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 5+ years of inventory and cost accounting experience
• Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Startup and manufacturing experience required
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Odoo
  17 experience preferred

• Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas
• Experience with accounting systems such as Quick Books, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or Odoo

• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to pivot in a startup environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Discretion in handling confidential information

• Base salary range: $97,750‑$120,700 (San Francisco Bay Area)
• Excludes bonus and benefits
