Title: Procurement Specialist I
Location: Alameda, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Range: $30/hr to $35/hr (On W2)
Shift Time: 8/9am to 5pm
Job SummaryThe Procurement Specialist I for Diabetes Care supports end‑to‑end purchasing operations by guiding internal teams through PR/PO workflows, managing procurement intake, maintaining accurate contracting documentation, and coordinating supplier onboarding. The role also assists senior procurement team members with spend analysis and sourcing logistics, ensures adherence to procurement policies and systems, and contributes to reporting, tracker updates, and ongoing process improvements.
Job Responsibilities- Guide internal requesters through the purchase requisition (PR) and purchase order (PO) process
- Assist with PR creation, validation, budget coding checks, and routing (note: no PO approval responsibility)
- Upload and organize contracts and supporting documents, ensuring accuracy in metadata and routing
- Manage procurement intake requests, triage needs, and route inquiries to appropriate team members
- Support supplier onboarding
- Maintain organized procurement documentation (contracts, SOWs, NDAs, quotes, etc.)
- Prepare basic spend summaries, supplier profiles, and data gathering to support category initiatives
- Assist with RFI/RFP logistics, including template formatting, managing timelines, and supplier coordination
- Track contract renewals, expirations, and sourcing pipeline activities
- Update and maintain procurement trackers
- Provide guidance to requesters on procurement policies and process steps
- Maintain procurement templates, guides, and intake resources
- Support small process improvements and contribute ideas as the procurement organization matures
- Offer light troubleshooting and user assistance for procurement systems related to PR/PO workflows
- Assist with monthly reports, KPI updates, and pulling data for presentations
- Support cross functional communication and follow ups
- Help with ad hoc procurement operations and sourcing tasks as needed
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–2 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain preferred.
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Qlik).
- Basic understanding of supplier management and contract administration.
- Interest in developing expertise in category management and sourcing strategies.
