We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator with a focus on Structural Steel in the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset and a keen attention to detail to our team. This position is pivotal in providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects. You will work closely with our project management team, clients, and vendors, playing a crucial role in the financial and operational success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel components of construction projects.
- Use Estimating Software such as Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM to develop precise and comprehensive estimates.
- Evaluate and analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to gather and clarify information necessary for accurate estimating.
- Maintain a current understanding of steel market pricing and trends to ensure estimates are competitive and accurate.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project proposal meetings.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop strategies for project execution.
- Ensure compliance with AISC and other relevant industry standards in all estimates and project plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, specifically within the structural steel industry.
- Proficiency in Estimating Software, including Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM.
- In-depth knowledge of AISC standards and their application in construction projects.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with an ability to develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively gather and clarify information from a range of stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team, contributing to strategy development and problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed for site visits and meetings.
