About the Opportunity
This onsite position is located in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division’s headquarters in Alameda, CA. The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area—covering Quality Assurance, Post Market Surveillance, Technical Quality Assurance, and Quality Excellence—providing financial analysis, reporting, and decision‑support activities.
What You’ll Do- Responsible for the month‑end close process of the Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area, complying with Division and Corporate reporting requirements:
- Preparation and validation of journal entries (including coordination with Genpact and Corporate Financial Services teams)
- Actuals reporting and analysis of actual vs forecast
- Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled on agreed timings, explain fluctuations, and review resulting analysis with the Assistant Controller at least quarterly.
- Perform forecasting and analysis for operating expenses, capital and project expenses, and balance-sheet items for the area.
- Manage assets for the area, including settlement and periodic verification.
- Ensure adequate internal controls are followed.
- Maintain a liaison relationship with the Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area, providing guidance and support for forecasting and business needs.
- Participate in ad hoc and periodic meetings and projects related to the area.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to provide efficient and effective decision‑support tools for senior management.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)
- 3‑5 years of financial analysis / FP&A experience
- Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and systems
- Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting
- Highly proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at multiple organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make recommendations and solve problems
- Master’s Degree / MBA
- Experience with SAP, Hyperion Ess Base, and Power BI
Base pay for this position is $90,000.00 – $. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
