Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Tasting Room Manager, the Tasting Room Associate supports the day‑to‑day operations of the tasting room while delivering engaging, educational, and compliant guest experiences. This role serves as an ambassador for the St. George Spirits Inc. brand, providing tours, tastings, and retail support in alignment with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

This position is regularly scheduled Friday through Sunday, with the potential for additional shifts for private tours and special events on other days of the week, as business needs require.

Requirements

  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, including California ABC requirements
  • Deliver accurate and engaging educational content during tastings, public tours, private tours, and trade visits
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with the St. George Spirits Inc. portfolio and production practices
  • Lead distillery tours for public, private, and industry audiences
  • Assist with tasting room opening and closing procedures, including facility security protocols
  • Perform general cleaning and sanitation duties (e.g., glassware, bar tops, floors, restrooms)
  • Support front‑desk and retail operations, including guest check‑in, reservation management, merchandise and bottle sales
  • Communicate with guests and team members in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist with bottle handling and bar setup, including stocking, sanitizing, and maintaining pour spouts
  • Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and towels for tasting room operations
  • Assist with bottle and merchandise inventory management
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional hospitality or service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service preferred
  • Understanding of laws and compliance requirements applicable to a distillery tasting room
  • Valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to move frequently between the tasting room, production floor, and office areas
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work indoors in a hospitality environment with frequent exposure to noise
  • Ability to taste, smell, and distinguish flavors and aromas as required for tastings and tours
  • Ability to work safely and remain alert in a guest‑facing environment
