Position: Program Manager - Customer Delivery & Business Growth

About Pow.

Bio

, we’re building a new kind of biomanufacturing platform — continuous fermentation combined with modern AI/ML tools — to dramatically reduce production costs and unlock broader commercial adoption of bio-based products. We’re now entering a major scale-up phase with multiple strategic partners, and we’re looking to build an exceptional commercial team for this category-defining biomanufacturing technology.

Role Overview

Product delivery is core to Pow.

Bio’s reputation and growth. As our customer programs and commercial pipeline expand, we are seeking a Program Manager who owns customer delivery end-to-end while serving as an early commercial gatekeeper.

This role is a force multiplier across customers, internal R&D teams, and the commercial organization. You will translate complex science into clear timelines and business outcomes, ensure programs stay on track in an inherently uncertain R&D environment, and help raise the quality of incoming work. Your goals will be:

  • Improve on-time, on-scope delivery
  • Increase customer satisfaction and repeat business
  • Raise the quality of incoming projects and deals
  • Reduce load and distraction on the science team
Key Responsibilities
Customer Program Ownership
  • Own end-to-end execution of customer R&D programs from kickoff through completion
  • Maintain and actively manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Drive internal coordination across scientific, operations, and commercial teams
  • Lead all external customer communications, meetings, and status updates
  • Anticipate and manage scope changes, risks, and expectations in uncertain R&D work
  • Own program documentation and internal record-keeping
  • Draft and manage customer agreements, including services agreements and statements of work
  • Own invoicing processes and follow-ups related to customer programs
CRM & Commercial Infrastructure
  • Own and maintain the CRM system as a super user
  • Partner with Sales/BD to manage pipeline hygiene, stage progression, and data integrity
  • Generate reports and insights to inform commercial strategy and resourcing decisions
Commercial Enablement
  • Manage inbound customer inquiries and early-stage engagement
  • Act as a technically credible first point of contact for prospective customers
  • Qualify opportunities at the top of the funnel — assessing technical fit, scope, and strategic value
  • Serve as a gatekeeper for “good fit for Pow.

    Bio” work
  • Participate in conferences and industry events to generate interest and relationships
  • Support marketing efforts with customer insights, messaging input, and content ideas
Qualifications
  • 3+years of program management experience within industrial biology, biomanufacturing, or synthetic biology
  • 5+ years of experience working within scientific or technical teams at a biotechnology company

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field; business training is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with scientists, engineers, customers, and executives
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and execution-oriented, with a bias toward measurable results
  • CRM power user — experience with Pipedrive, Hub Spot, or Salesforce; enthusiasm for using metrics to drive performance
