The RoleInfinimmune is seeking a motivated Senior Research Associate / Associate Scientist to join our growing Preclinical Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology techniques and a genuine curiosity for early-stage preclinical research. This position offers exceptional hands-on learning opportunities and the chance to directly contribute to programs sourced from our Anthrobody®platform, from target validation through candidate selection.
This role is in-person at our Alameda, CA headquarters.
The Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist will support programs at the bench, working closely with scientists on the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently design, schedule, and execute robust bench experiments to support program milestones. Identify and communicate any issues and propose solutions.
- Perform routine and advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, qRT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, and multiplex immunoassays.
- Contribute to IND-enabling pharmacology studies and Module 4 authoring by generating high-quality experimental data and drafting technical reports.
- Rigorously analyze data and document experimental workflows in an electronic lab notebook in a timely manner. Present findings and progress updates to cross-functional teams.
- Conduct literature searches to inform experimental strategies and troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Prepare reagents, manage procurement requests, maintain an organized and safe laboratory environment, and contribute to lab infrastructure growth.
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a scientific discipline with 6+ years of relevant industry experience, OR Master's degree with 4+ years of industry experience. Position level (SRA vs. Associate Scientist) will be determined based on depth of experience and demonstrated technical leadership.
- Hands-on experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques, specifically qRT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, and multiplex immunoassays.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the IND-enabling process, including drafting technical reports for regulatory submissions.
- Proven track record of critically evaluating and applying scientific literature to support project objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical data clearly.
- Proactive team player who asks for input when needed and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior hands-on experience in antibody discovery, biologics research, or immune-mediated assay development.
- Familiarity with GLP or GLP-like study conduct, including documentation standards, protocol adherence, and data integrity practices for regulated studies.
- Experience isolating primary human immune cells (e.g., PBMCs) and performing ex vivo functional assays.
- Prior experience in a startup or early-stage biotech environment, including building SOPs, establishing laboratory workflows, or standing up new capabilities with limited infrastructure.
