Temporary Associate Research Scientist

We are seeking a Research Associate to support early-stage small molecule discovery programs through the development, optimization, and execution of biochemical and biophysical assays. This role will contribute to hit identification, hit validation, mechanism-of-action studies, and lead optimization efforts by developing robust assay platforms and supporting high-throughput screening (HTS) activities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with assay development, screening technologies, laboratory automation, and small molecule research in a fast-paced discovery environment.

This role will contribute to hit identification, hit validation, mechanism-of-action studies, and lead optimization efforts by developing robust assay platforms and supporting high-throughput screening (HTS) activities.

• Develop, optimize, and execute biochemical and biophysical assays to support small molecule discovery programs.
• Design and perform high-throughput screening (HTS) campaigns and compound profiling studies.
• Develop assays to support hit identification, hit validation, mechanism-of-action investigations, and lead optimization activities.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, workflows, and laboratory methods to improve screening and assay performance.
• Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results to project teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to support project objectives and timelines.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain compliance with established research practices.

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience;
  Associate degree with 7+ years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on experience with biochemical and biophysical assay development for small molecule research.
• Experience developing and executing high-throughput screening assays and screening campaigns.
• Experience working with microplate-based assay formats and compound profiling workflows.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and scientific interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative research environment.

• Experience with biophysical characterization techniques such as Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI), Microscale Thermophoresis (MST), thermal shift assays, or similar technologies.
• Experience with biochemical assay platforms including AlphaLISA, HTRF, ELISA, MSD, fluorescence polarization, luminescence-based assays, or related methods.
• Experience developing assays in high-density screening formats.
• Experience using laboratory automation platforms, including liquid handlers, dispensers, and automated detection systems.
• Experience supporting mechanism-of-action studies and small molecule characterization.
• Familiarity with targeted protein degradation, molecular glues, heterobifunctional molecules, or related therapeutic approaches.

• Strong assay development and experimental design skills.
• Experience with high-throughput screening technologies and workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot assays and optimize experimental performance.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic research environment.
