WhatYou’ll Do
- Shape the vision – work with company leadership to define the technology roadmap and guide our firmware architecture strategy.
- Deliver technical excellence – plan and execute the designing, development, and verification of embedded software across sub‑systems like power management, ASICs, and communication systems.
- Drive innovation – architect and integrate subsystems, perform benchtop testing, and ensure reliability and compliance with medical device standards.
- Collaborate across disciplines – partner with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams, as well as external stakeholders to bring complex projects from concept to clinic.
- Design, develop, test, and optimize embedded software for iota’s devices across the entire product lifecycle.
- Optimize RF/BLE power delivery and control system implemented on an embedded platform, using modern software techniques to support multiple products while maximizing software reuse.
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop the "big data" infrastructure for efficiently sending all required data from the embedded processor to the application software, cloud backend, and retrieving any configuration data and messages from the backend.
- Own the process of verifying embedded software to medical regulatory standards while maintaining an industry‑leading development pace.
- Improve team software development processes and infrastructure, including Dev Ops activities.
- B.S. in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical field.
- 10+ years industry work experience programming in C/C++.
- Experience in Real‑time OS (RTOS) for embedded platforms.
- Experience in wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Jenkins) and modern software test/deployment methodologies.
- Comfortable working in a Python environment for tests and prototyping.
- Substantial prior experience with ISO 13485 (QMS), ISO 14971 (risk management), and/or IEC 62304 (medical device software).
