Mechanical Superintendent, Renewable Energy Alamogordo, NM
A growing division of a large multinational renewable energy company is hiring a Mechanical Superintendent to lead the mechanical scope of a utility-scale renewable energy construction project in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This role starts with an onboarding period at the company's Houston, Texas office before relocating to the project site, offering a clear path from headquarters into a hands-on field leadership role.
Field rotation schedule based at the Alamogordo, NM project site following onboarding in Houston, TX. Travel and relocation to project sites should be expected at a high frequency, up to 80 to 100 percent of the time.
$130,000 to $140,000 per year, plus a per diem of $120 per day to cover lodging and expenses during site rotations, and a company truck provided for work-related use once on site.
The Mechanical Superintendent supervises and directs field crews, subcontractors, and supporting functions including Safety, QA/QC, Project Controls, and Logistics for the mechanical scope of the project. This role ensures construction operations are performed safely, in accordance with OSHA requirements, project specifications, and QA/QC standards, while staying within budget and schedule. The Mechanical Superintendent reports to the General Superintendent or Construction Manager on a daily basis, reading plans and interpreting specifications to make sound operational decisions in the field.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of field supervisory experience in utility-scale renewable energy construction
- OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 10 acceptable for onboarding, with OSHA 30 to be completed)
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to travel and relocate temporarily to project sites as required, up to 80 to 100 percent
- Experience in utility-scale solar or battery energy storage system (BESS) construction
- Experience with Procore or other construction management platforms
Compensation and benefits include $130,000 to $140,000 per year, per diem of $120 per day during site rotations, company truck provided for work-related use on site, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
