The School of Education is comprised of five (5) academic departments including Educational Leadership, kính Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, Special Education, and Counseling.
The Associate Director of Office of Field Experiences and UG SOE Admissions leads the college’s teacher residency work, building partnerships for the college’s residency implementation, ensuring program alignment with PED’s residency guidance, serving as the point person for residency communications and as the liaison between NMHU and the teacher residency efforts, attending state community of practice meetings, and working with the PED to ensure any new residency directions and responsibilities get integrated into the College’s programs and processes.

Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in the teaching field.
- Five or more years of K‑12 teaching experiences and ability to meet NM level II Licensure.
- Experience with assessments of programs in academic setting.
- Prior experience in teacher mentorship in the state of New Mexico.
- Prior experience coordinating across stakeholder teams and school districts.
- Should have 2+ years using NMPED’s Educator Evaluation Rubric to perform formal observations/evaluations on staff.
- Three or more years of experience in educational administration or programming coordination aligned with NMPED systems.
- Experience working with Tribal, Pueblo, and rural communities.
- Bilingual (Spanish/ English or Native American language/English).
- Proficiency teaching and communicating with colleagues and students via electronic and digital modalities.
- Proficiency in Brightspace or other Learning Management System.
- Proficiency with student advisement/information systems (e.g. Degree Audit in Banner).~
- Proficiency in Via or similar system or willingness to be trained in Via Watermark (assessments/accreditation systems).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to have critical conversations to help teachers improve.
- Have strong reputation as an educator and/or classroom teacher.
- Ability to adapt to new and changing processes and technologies.
- Strong reputation as an educator and/or classroom teacher.
- Active NM Tier III Licensure for eligibility in applicable areas.
- Ability to use technology in the performance of responsibilities.
- Much be willing to travel to schools.
- Have a valid driver’s license and mode of reliable transportation.
- Have ability to adapt to new and changing processes and technologies.
- Use NMTEACH Rubric to perform formal observations/evaluations of staff.
