Information Systems Manager
Amentum is seeking an Information Systems Manager to join our team and support our McLean, VA customer. The role focuses on critical IT functions for a premier government contractor, providing design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs supporting company business processes and operations. The manager will analyze, install, acquire, modify and support operating systems, databases or utilities, perform upgrades, license management, and architecture design for LAN/WAN, voice/wire systems.
The position requires mid-level management support, multitasking in a fast-paced, mission‑critical environment and collaboration with stakeholders and other government agencies. The work schedule is Monday through Friday for at least 8 hours per day.
- Perform a variety of Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Network Defense (CND) functions supporting multi‑tier IA and CND functions including systems engineer, audit/inspection, infrastructure support, certification and accreditation, vulnerability management, detection and response support services.
- Provide support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program.
- Evaluate user needs and systems functionality, ensuring that the needs of individuals and projects are met in multiple software systems to include Maximo and Maxwell.
- Provide security certification test and evaluation of assets, vulnerability management and response, security assessments and customer support.
- Maintain operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure customer information systems security policies, standards and procedures are established and followed.
- Evaluate security solutions and assist in the management of information system security to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
- Manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) documents used in cybersecurity to track, manage and remediate security weaknesses, vulnerabilities and gaps identified in information systems.
- Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
- Schedules upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
- Provide configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware and firmware.
- Prepare, review and maintain documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs) and other user guides and technical publications.
- Plan, develop and implement the budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Ensure the smooth running of all systems, including anti-virus software, print services and e-mail provision.
- Ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to.
- Manage crisis situations involving complex technical hardware and software problems.
- Write reports and make presentations to upper management on networking issues.
- Advise management personnel on new innovations, technologies and systems requirements.
- Manage inventory of IT equipment, including tracking assets, maintaining accurate records, coordinating procurement and ensuring timely distribution and lifecycle management.
- Safety – enforce a safety culture; complete training, self‑aid/buddy aid responsibilities, emergency response tasks and serve on safety committees and teams.
- Quality – consistently provide services that meet customer expectations and comply with Amentum Quality Policy and customer contracts.
- Procedure Compliance – read, understand and implement operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
- At least 8+ years’ experience in network administration with Novell Net Ware and/or Windows NT; 5+ years of relevant experience with a master’s degree.
- At least 2 years of Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Network Defense (CND) experience.
