Assistant Superintendent, Construction

Overview

Walbridge is expanding the team for a Construction Assistant Superintendent to lead and manage large-scale construction projects, focusing on the data center industry. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle from feasibility to completion, developing project strategies, plans, and budgets, and assembling qualified project teams. The position may require travel to client projects on a long-term basis. We are especially interested in candidates based near Indianapolis, Indiana who are passionate about building and strengthening their local community.

You can be located anywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to client projects on a long-term basis.

• Project Planning and Strategy:
  Plan and supervise construction activities, including determining methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules. Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Team Leadership:
  Coordinate work with different crafts, departments, or contractors. Resolve construction problems and maintain communication with unions.
• Resource Management:
  Monitor safety program compliance and document corrective measures. Ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedules.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, and vendors, to ensure alignment and address concerns.
• Performance Monitoring:
  Track project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans to meet changing requirements or challenges.
• Quality Assurance:
  Ensure all deliverables meet the required quality standards and compliance regulations.
• Innovation and Improvement:
  Continuously seek ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologies.

• A high school diploma or equivalent, and five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, commercial or industrial projects.
• Experience on commercial or industrial projects with budgets of at least $15M.
• Valid US driver’s license and valid passport; willingness and ability to travel; travel estimated at 70% or more.

• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Experience supervising, motivating, and mentoring cross-functional teams.
• Strong safety record and ability to deliver quality outcomes.

• Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
• Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapts to changing project requirements.
