This position is located in San Felipe Pueblo between Albuquerque and Santa Fe serving a community of approximately 4000 in accordance to the requirements, goals and objectives of the Pueblo of San Felipe Administration, Indian Health Service P.L. 93-638 contract and other contract requirements. Incumbent will provide nursing and education services to prevent, treat, manage families and groups in community homes.
Provide and serve the community through work with other tribal programs/activities, home visits, epidemiological program management, infectious disease investigation and community assessment skills. Incumbent may provide direct patient services at the school clinic located on site at the San Felipe Elementary School, Head Start, and other community locations to ensure essential medical services are provided to the school age population of the Pueblo of San Felipe.
Will provide direct primary, preventive and therapeutic medical care appropriate to the age of patients serve.
- Provide direct health care services, behavioral health screening and medication delivery.
- Assess and coordinates medical and behavioral health care interventions and plans.
- Collaborate and coordinate patient care services with Indian Health Service (I.H.S.) medical providers serving the San Felipe Community.
- Make home visits when indicated to implement a care plan and/ or follow-up care.
- Conduct assessments and screenings.
- Undertake a comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment of clients using suitable assessment tools underpinned by evidenced based knowledge.
- Assess and coordinates wound care and podiatry
- Administration of medication and immunizations under standing orders.
- Performs medical point of care testing, non-invasive screenings and other medical procedures with-in theirs cope of practice.
- Educate people about available health care programs and services to improve access to care.
- Perform public health screening, testing, and collection.
- Utilize Standards of Nursing Practice and in accordance with agency policies and practices.
- Maintains confidentiality of all records.
- Prepare and submits various patient and operational reports directed by the Clinical Services Director.
- Provide direct care during physical and psychological emergencies.
- Respond to Public health emergencies, conduct testing and provide care.
- Participate in the planning and coordination of various public health clinics in order to prevent communicable diseases and promote wellness.
- Communicable disease screening and treatment management and education.
- Monitor health trends and identify health risk factors unique to tribal communities.
- Set local priorities for health-related interventions to provide the greatest benefit to the most people.
- Design and implement health education campaigns and disease prevention activities, such as immunizations and screenings.
- Conduct community analysis in partnership with community representatives and in collaboration with other public health or health care professionals.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures for Health and Wellness Program.
- Participate in continuous evaluation of program and services and performance improvement.

- Maintain current education and standards in Nursing.
- Demonstrates computer skills necessary to organize data for essential care delivery.
- Education: Bachelor in Nursing or graduate level nursing education.
