Overview
Alpine Achievers Initiative (AAI) inspires, connects, and nurtures youth, families, and communities in south-central Colorado. The Educator Recruitment and Retention (ERR) program recruits community members interested in a career in education or behavioral health. ERR members serve as Behavioral Health Technicians in local schools, providing direct instructional support to students from pre‑K through high school under the supervision of licensed professionals.
The program is a 1,200‑hour, full‑time term running August 2026–July 2027.
- Support classroom instruction tailored to individual student needs.
- Assist teachers with individual education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct developmentally appropriate child assessments.
- Implement behavioral strategies and contribute to data collection.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families while upholding confidentiality and professionalism.
- Participate in the Youth Mental Health Corps (YMHC), a national initiative supporting youth mental health in schools and communities.
- Earn a Behavioral Health Plus Certificate or Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant Level 1 Certificate via Front Range Community College.
- Meet weekly with a site supervisor and monthly with an AAI Program Manager.
- Engage in regular professional development on academic interventions, youth development, behavior management, restorative practices, CPR/First Aid, and career readiness.
- Living allowance up to $28,560.
