Position Summary
This position reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and is responsible for providing instruction, coaching expertise, and leadership to student‑athletes in the intercollegiate Women’s Basketball program. The coach assists in program management, administration, and the overall positive and beneficial experience for student‑athletes.
Responsibilities- Assist in coaching student‑athletes, evaluating performance in practice and competition
- Teach fundamental techniques and provide leadership and instruction as directed by the Head Coach
- Model sportsmanship and exemplify good moral and physical behavior
- Maintain performance standards consistent with departmental academic and athletic expectations
- Implement recruiting strategy to attract outstanding student‑athletes, remaining in compliance with NCAA and RMAC rules and university policies
- Coordinate eligibility, financial aid, facilities scheduling, contest administration, and game operations with head coach and compliance officer
- Develop, implement, and supervise practices, workouts, shooting, film, and contests
- Monitor academic progress, conduct classroom checks, study hall, and progress reports
- Assist in coordination of summer camps, clinics, and fundraising activities in partnership with head coach and advancement
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred - Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse personalities
- Commitment to NCAA, RMAC, university, and department rules and regulations
- High ethical standards; initiative and integrity in independent decision‑making
- Demonstrated cultural competence and respect for diversity in a global environment
- Conflict management skills to address disagreements constructively
- Understanding of Adams State University’s vision and mission
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided
On‑site in Alamosa, CO.
Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $35,568–$42,700. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
