Required Qualifications
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology
  • Experience in Speech Language Pathology (new graduates are welcome)
  • Other certifications or licenses relevant to the position
Summary

The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Essential Work Functions
  • Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while offering supportive counseling as required.
  • Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech language therapy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Proficiency in PC skills and following written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical Abilities – must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal Skills – effective collaboration with a variety of personnel; positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Technical/Motor Skills – grasp fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about to assist with procedures or equipment.
  • Mental Requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, manage irregular activity schedules, and maintain concentration to detail.
  • Sensory – possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
