IT Business Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst
Job Description
Intermediate‑to‑advanced professional work leading multiple Workday modules. Responsible for design, implementation, enhancement, and testing of primary and supporting HRIS systems to meet business needs. Executes configuration, change management, and moderate‑to‑complex functional, regression, integration, and performance testing within a service‑oriented architecture. Acts as a consultative partner to HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders on organizational hierarchies, security models, and module integrations, evaluating requests against Weld County policies, IT standards, and Workday best practices.
Responsibilities- HRIS Maintenance – 60% – Configure, maintain, and upgrade Workday modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Time & Absence, Benefits, Payroll, and Learning. Oversee twice‑yearly Workday upgrades; evaluate new functionality, design test strategies, run UAT, manage deployment, and handle change management. Assist IT with integrations, develop reports and automations, design dashboards, and ensure data accuracy and security.
- Resolve system issues and provide support – Investigate and troubleshoot complex system issues across modules, escalated when necessary, and provide technical support to HR, Finance, and IT partners.
- Document processes and stay current on trends – Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of business processes, workflows, security policies, and testing routines while monitoring the Workday Community for updates.
- HRIS End User Support – 20% – Serve as the primary escalation point for complex user problems, offer real‑time guidance, create training materials (workshops, job aids, videos), and monitor usage metrics to improve adoption.
- Cross‑functional Collaboration – 20% – Lead requirement‑gathering workshops, identify automation opportunities, compile data reports, advocate for system improvements, and collaborate with Learning and Development to deliver training.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related discipline with 5 years of professional‑level information systems experience, OR Associate’s Degree with 7 years of professional‑level experience.
- Experience configuring and maintaining HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
- Proficiency in creating and analyzing HR reports.
- Experience supporting system testing, upgrades, and release cycles.
- Understanding of HR business processes, compliance requirements, and data privacy standards.
- Preferred:
Advanced Workday knowledge (Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, Time Tracking), project coordination, process automation or Lean/Six Sigma background, and HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM‑CP.
- Proficient in Workday and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with laws.
- Human Resources Information Professional (HRIP) preferred.
