The Registrar plays a critical role in supporting the student experience by ensuring the accuracy, security, and accessibility of academic records while partnering across campus to advance institutional goals and student success initiatives.
About this role:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, the University Registrar provides strategic leadership and oversight for all functions of the Registrar’s Office, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and security of academic records and student information systems (Workday). This role manages registration, grading, transcripts, degree verification, compliance, and graduation auditing in alignment with university policies and legal regulations such as FERPA.
The Registrar collaborates with IT and campus partners to implement and optimize technology solutions that support student success. Additionally, the position supervises staff, maintains procedural documentation, and ensures accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Registrar’s Office Administration
- Develops, directs, and reviews departmental goals and objectives, including administration of ASU, Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE), and federal (ED) policies regarding registration, tuition classification, course and degree evaluation, records management, data integrity, security, and access.
- Hires, trains, and supervises department personnel.
- Conducts staff performance evaluations.
- Supports a service‑oriented culture that provides responsive, proactive communication fostering positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides opportunities for professional development of departmental staff.
- Represents the Registrar’s Office at meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Maintains memberships and actively participates in professional Registrar‑oriented organizations.
- Manages departmental budget on a monthly basis to ensure cost‑effective operations.
- Maintains current knowledge of technology applications.
- Conducts regular Registrar’s Office staff meetings to ensure departmental alignment with strategies and goals.
