Job Description:The Accounting Manager/Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing day-to-day financial activities, including bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a strong understanding of the unique accounting needs of a business.
Responsibilities:- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Process payroll.
- Coordinate with project managers to track job costs and profitability.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as needed.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
