JOB STATEMENT/
PURPOSE:
Alaska Native Heritage Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our finance team. This internship provides hands-on experience with financial reporting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and administrative accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and is eager to learn in a professional environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Data Entry into the various systems, including ,
- , Planning Pod, and Quick Books accounting system of Vendor Bills, Customer Invoices and Facility Reservation Orders.
- Daily Sales data entry for Admissions, Gift Shop, Café, Facility Rentals, and other revenue streams.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Prepare and maintain financial records and spreadsheets
- Support bank reconciliations and account balancing
- Help process invoices, receipts, and expense reports
- Assist with monthly closing activities
- Organize and file accounting documents
- Perform data entry with accuracy and attention to detail
- Support audits and other financial projects as needed
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Prior internship or office experience is a plus but not required
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Prior internship or office experience is a plus but not required
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Quick Books
- Ability to use accounting software, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Additional duties assigned based on needs of the business.
